Hello, my name is Kean Brown, the owner of Kean Brown Photography. I was first introduced to photography over twenty five years ago in the mid eighties. It was in the early nineties when I started to take photography really seriously when I went to college in Blackpool to study the subject. I went on to gain City & Guilds qualifications, at distinction level, in five different areas of photography. Two of these areas were in processing; Black & White and Colour Printing. I very soon set up my own dark room and became a very competent printer, printing all of my own photographs and also other peoples.
Photography has changed a lot since those days since the dawn of the digital age and it is the post processing that has seen the biggest change. The old dark room is now long gone and has been replaced with the computer and editing software such as Photoshop. Having a strong interest in both the camera side and also the processing side and, in order to not get left behind, I went to night school for over two years to study Digital Imaging (learning how to use and get the best from Photoshop), achieving advanced level certificates. I still continue to learn on a daily basis from books, tutorials, courses and people etc. in order to be in tune with the very latest methods and techniques as all areas of photography progress with great speed.
I am also a member of two long established photographic societies where I regularly enter my work into both local and national competitions in order to better myself and raise my profile. This has proved to be very successful for me having had my work win awards on many occasions. My passion for photography continues to grow each day and I consider it a pleasure to continue to learn about the subject.
